Dr. Lopes is an HPCSA-registered medical practitioner with clinical experience gained across tertiary and district hospitals in Johannesburg. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from the University of Pretoria.

She completed her internship at Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital across Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery, Family Medicine, Psychiatry, and Orthopaedics.

Her community service year was completed at Tambo Memorial Hospital in the Paediatrics Department, with experience in neonatal care, inpatient and outpatient management, and multidisciplinary patient care. She is fluent in English and Afrikaans.
